Revolution White T Sugar-Free Drinks

Revolution White T Sugar-Free Drinks
Revolution has a line of white tea fruit drinks, all containing no sugar. The small, white 10oz containers hold enough for a refreshing glass. I do have a question here though - they say "serving size 8 ounces" on the back. It's a 10oz container. Does this mean they think you're going to drink only 8oz and then save the remaining 2oz to use the next time around? Really, I have this suspicion that one of the count items (calories, carbs etc) was almost 1g but that they could call it zero as long as they only counted the values for 8oz and not 10oz. Hmmmmmmm.

In any case the nutrition label claims:
0 calories
0 fat
0 sodium
0 carbs
0 protein

So really this has nothing :) It has water, white tea, and flavors. There are four flavors that I found to try. I began with the "white tea with raspberry". It did indeed have a nice, fresh raspberry flavor with the tea flavor. It's pretty much drinking ice tea with fruit flavors in it.

It's funny that they use white tea. I have to think it's a marketing gimmick to have a white bottle :) White tea is rather uncommon and is much like green tea in that it is hardly processed at all. It is dried for about 24 hours, then fired to further dry them out. The real difference here between green and white tea is that white tea leaves are picked very young, when they still have the tiny white hairs of new growth. Also, white tea leaves tend to be stored whole, so that you can see they really are young and white.

So we get tiny hairs in our tea? It's not like the leaves are whole in the bottle :) So the only real advantage of white over green is the tiny hairs.

In any case, it is a very good option for people who want zero calorie drinks but who do not want the bubbles / artificial stuff in sodas. This is a rather natural product. Note that it of course does have caffeine since caffeine is found in all teas, including green tea and white tea. So from that point of view, I would try to keep my intake to a minimum.
