Custom House Maritime Museum
The Custom House was originally built in 1835 and was the building where taxes were collected on imported goods. Every shipping vessel that entered and left the port was recorded here along with issuing seaman's identification certificates.
This is a rather small museum, but actually pretty interesting. If you are spend the day in Newburyport, take a walk through this museum.
