Illustrator CS3 Live Trace to Create a Logo - 2
  1. Finally, I added the nose and hair details.

I now had an image with several layers of details. I needed to rasterize the image before I could use the Live Trace feature.

  2. First, I selected all the layers in the Layers panel. I dragged the Selection tool over the entire image to select all the objects. Then, I clicked Object, Rasterize and accepted all the default settings to rasterize the image.

  3. Now the Live Trace button was available in the Options Bar. I clicked on the small arrow next to the Live Trace button to test the Presets. Each Preset gave me a different result. Some results varied quite a lot and some had only slight changes in detail. When you try this yourself, you have many options for fine tuning the Presets.
