The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt

The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt
Want to see the newest attachment parenting and natural parenting products available? Looking for a little family-friendly online entertainment? Want to support work-at-home families? The 5th annual Great Cloth Diaper Hunt is underway (May 1-31, 2007) and there is a LOT to see. You'll see cosleepers, slings, mei tais, handmade candy, natural skin care products and hundreds of other products for attachment parenting and some just for you!

The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt is not just cloth diapers, although you will see plenty of those! The semi-annual cloth diaper hunt features 175 small businesses that cater to moms and dads - most are AP friendly and most are very small family-owned businesses so you can feel good about supporting them. The object of the hunt is to visit as many of these sponsor sites as possible and find the hidden diaper icon. Clicking the icon logs your find. You can check your progress through the site and download a checklist to help you keep track. In addition to the normal Hunt Sponsors, you'll also find 25 Extreme Diaper Hunt Sponsors who have hidden their icons extra well. Finding their icons will qualify you for the Extreme prize worth over $400.

"Diaper Hunters" as hunt participants are known, are eligible to receive really nice prizes donated by the hunt sponsors. There are daily prizes as well as many different prize packages. The November 2006 Hunt drew over 2,000 diaper hunters. In addition to the Great Cloth Diaper Hunt, there is a corresponding hunt for Australian nappy hunters - The Great Down Under Nappy Hunt. Nappy is the commonly used term for diapers in Australia, England and many other countries.

The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt is the brain child of Susan Aravelo, a work-at-home-mom and owner of Diaper Decisions, a business advice site for cloth diaper owners.

You can register for the Great Cloth Diaper Hunt here. The hunt runs from May 1-May 31 and from November 1-November 30 each year.
