God Doesn't Make Mistakes

God Doesn't Make Mistakes
I happened to be sitting at my computer after a particularly hectic day when I received an email. As a full-time freelancer, I’m accustomed to promotions being directed at me and frankly, I was burnt out for the day. As I read the message, though, I realized that this one was so appropriate to my goal for the night. Call the email divinely directed, if you will, because I fully believe it was sent to be my inspiration for an article. Anyone who’s ever had writer’s block can understand exactly what I mean by that.

Steve Moser, of New Family Music, had written to me about a unique song he had written for his wife about their three-year-old daughter, Anna. Anna is a beautiful little girl whose smile lights up a room. What’s special about Anna is that the doctors diagnosed her with Down syndrome in the womb and pressured her parent’s to terminate the pregnancy, which they did not do.

Steve wrote to me to share this beautiful song, God Doesn’t Make Mistakes, that he has written about life with Anna – the ups and downs, and the heartbreaking love a parent feels for a child. His kind letter and the song itself touched me. I’m a mother of two boys, whom I love dearly, and my mother’s doctors recommended that she abort me or she would have to go on bed rest for five months. “You can try again later,” were their words. She chose the bed rest and I’m here, healthy and fighting for the rights of the unborn thirty years later.

I absolutely love children and am so thankful to see my exact sentiments echoed in Steve Moser’s song and story. Thank you for your work, Mr. Moser! I hope we hear a lot more from you in the future!
