Selling Online at iCraft.ca
In the last article, I introduced you to iCraft.ca, a fairly new marketplace for handmade artists. We discussed the basic type of store you will have at iCraft.ca. Now we will take a look at your store options. Besides the free account, you have your choice of three fee-based accounts.
As a seller, you will have a profile page, called a Creator Exhibit page, and a store listing. Each product you have listed gets a product description page and up to 6 product photos. Your store will have it's own url such as www.icraft.ca/username. iCraft does not charge a commission fee on your sales.
For all accounts, there is a one-time registration fee of $25.00 CAD. Your choice of seller account determines the number of products that you can list in your store. You are free to change your listings anytime. To help you advertise your store, there is an easy-to-use widget creator. You just supply your username and the program will build a widget in several sizes ready to be put on your website or blog.
Free Account – You can list up to 5 items for free (registration fee does apply). However, they will put advertising at the bottom of your Creator Exhibit page.
Starter Account – $5.00 CAD per month. You can have from 5 to 50 items in your store. These items can be changed at any time without extra cost. Each item listing above 50 will cost $.20 CAD per month. No advertising will be placed on your store pages.
Professional Account – $10.00 CAD per month. You can list 5 to 100 items. Extra items are $.20 CAD/month. No advertising.
Elite Account – $15.00 CAD per month. You can list 5 to 150 items. As above, extra items are $.20 CAD/month and no advertising.
What about multiple units for one product? Each item, no matter the number of units available, counts as one item.
If you pay your fee for an entire year, you will get a 10% discount. You can also earn 3 months to one year free with the referral program.
The seller community for the site has a forum, events calendar and blog. You will also want to check out the Sellers' Bootcamp.
