Counted Bead Dangling
NOTICE: These are currently unavailable. I will post a notice in my newsletter when they become available again.
I recently got to test one of these lovely kits from Foxden Designs. I thought they were simply lovely, but they looked like fringe to me.
Don't be fooled. It is actually a different technique from just doing normal fringe like you would on a pouch. Doing fringe that way wouldn't make a design that hangs as nicely as these do.
I got my kit in the mail in great time, wonderfully packaged, in heat sealed plastic, it contains almost everything you need to complete this kit,
Complete Instructions
Color Charted Design
Bead Count Chart
Thread Template
Decorative Hanger (which is lovely, like a decorative gate)
Miyuki Delica Beads (+40 grams)
Decorative beads or charms for the accent
Coats Thread
Beading Needle
Straight Edge
For the first one you do, you will also need a Beadangle board, however, you can use one for all your Beadangle designs. You will also need wax paper, straight pins, glue and nail polish. I had misplaced my pin cushion. So I did the first couple of rows, then got stuck until I found my pin cushion.
Word of advise, this is a technique you absolutely need to read through the instructions all the way first! The designer has tested out the technique, the threads used, and the instructions completely. Don't use regular beading/tailor threads or cords. Do use the bobbin of thread provided.

It's a great watching tv time project, once I took Rosemary Ighel's advise and precounted my beads a few rows in advance. The bead counting, once you get the basic technique down, is the hardest part of the project. I let my 12 year old son read the instructions, and he got stuck on one part.I explained to him what he needed to do, and he did a few rows for me. So the instructions are pretty clear.
The finished product was gorgeous.I don't work with Miyuki Delicas often, this project probably more then any other I've tried does need them rather then the size 11 seed beads I'm much more used to.
Foxden Designs also carries every color of Miyuki Delicas, some gorgeous bracelet kits, which I'm sure are probably the same high quality as the Beadangle kit, and gorgeous silver beads at some of the best retail prices I've ever seen. The customer service is fast and wonderful. I would definately recommend this company. I would also definately recommend this kit for people with patience. I had a nice feeling of accomplishment after finishing it because I generally do things that are much quicker to finish. Terri says that she will be offering graph paper in the future for people who want to chart out their own Beadangle Charted Bead Dangling projects.

Sorry about the lack of a picture. *blush* My husband took the finished piece to work with him, and said he would take a picture for me. I need to remind him. The kit I did was the absolutely lovely Motifs one with it's orange shell. It was masculine enough looking that he decided it would look better in his office then on my wall!
