Society 6 Print On Demand
In short, you upload your artwork and it becomes available as a design on the products for sale on the site, including travel mugs, pillows, stationary and much more. I really like the new Can Coolers and the very popular phone cases.
Society 6 is very much like Zazzle.com, but doesn't offer as many print on demand products as Zazzle. As a seller, you are given an online store, where you list the designs that you offer for sale on their products. You have the option to sell your design on any product, with the list of products determined by the pixel dimensions of your artwork. They suggest your design be at least 6500 pixels at 72 dpi or higher. Of course, you can upload designs for specific products, as long as your design is equal to or larger than the required pixel dimensions for that product.
As with most online marketplaces, each seller is given a store with a subdomain url. You can upload a store cover and avatar, that will display at the top of your store listing, along with a short bio.
Society 6 has a lot of very helpful information for their sellers, ranging from how to set up your store to a monthly Creative Brief, with suggestions for trends and sales.
When you upload a design, the system generates a product image for each product to which your design can be applied.
Your store listing contains a listing of these product images. On the individual product page, you have several larger product images. The system also generates the product description for you. At the bottom of the page is listed all the products with that particular design.
Society 6 does allow the sellers to use these product images for marketing, which is nice. But, the product images generated by the online system are very generic.
But there is good news. It is getting easier to product your own product images, with online graphic design software such as Artboard Studio. https://artboard.studio
