Half Updo Ideas for Proms and Weddings

Half Updo Ideas for Proms and Weddings
Many women do not feel comfortable in an updo. Perhaps, you want a fuller and softer look. A partial updo or "half-updo" may be just what you are looking for. Try this hair style of "Half up and Half down" for soft, romantic elegance that is right for the prom, any evening out or for a wedding.

After the hair is thoroughly dry, set it all on hot rollers. Brush it well to soften the curls and encourage shine. Divide off the front, or bang area and clip it out of the way. The sides and the top are pulled up and back and secured at the crown with large bobby pins. The curls are allowed to fall over the pins. They should conceal the bobby pins. This style is not worn with bangs, however, a panel of hair in the front is combed smoothly to the side and allowed to drape over one eye. If it is unruly, use hair gel and hair spray for control it.

Use a vent brush to fluff the back into full curls. You may want to back-comb or back=brush the area for more fullness. Gently brush over the back-combing to conceal it without removing it. Finish the style with flexible hold hairspray. Flexible hold means that the hairspray controls the hair but does not make it stiff and unmovable.
