January 12 2009 British Television Newsletter

Here's the latest article from the British Television site at BellaOnline.com.

Hello, I’m the new British Television editor and I’ll be bringing you all the latest news and views from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five. I’ll also be reviewing any new DVD releases.

If Sci-fi isn’t really your thing but you love a time-slip story, then the fantastic drama Life on Mars is absolutely for you. Sadly, it's not yet possible to get the DVD for region 1 (something to do with music copyright) but I think it would be worth buying a DVD player that can take any DVD. I know the US version of the show has been airing and I’d love to know what you think of it and how it compares with the original. The follow-up series Ashes to Ashes aired last year with the second series coming later in 2009. I'll review that later.

Talking of Sci-fi, the new Dr Who has been announced. This series, which has been running for almost 50 years, has a cult status in Britain. See http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art60285.asp for the low-down on Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor.
