Try this to check if your internal rotators have become tight -
Hold a cane or broomstick in front of you with both hands placed slightly more than shoulder width apart. Remaining in good, upright posture, raise the stick overhead and then bring it back behind your head resting it upon your shoulders (the stick is now behind your neck). If you are unable to do this, or if you have to bend your head forward or round your shoulders to accomplish this, then your internal rotators have tightened.
