Hello Everyone,

January is a fairly quiet month, which is a welcoming change from the hustle and bustle of the holidays.  In some parts of the world, January is also a very cold month, which makes it a perfect time to prepare warm and comforting foods. 

Did you know that January is National Soup Month?  Is there anyone who doesn't appreciate a warm bowl of soup?  Believe it or not,  January is also National Wheat Bread Month.  This is the perfect time to get that automatic bread machine out and let it do its magic on the dough; serve your wholesome wheat loaf with one of the quick and easy soups on this site. 

The third Monday in January is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Isn't it nice to get an extra day off work or school for this, the newest US holiday?  It's only fitting to prepare authentic Soul Food for the occasion!  I've been testing and streamlining soul food recipes  this week.  You'll find several quick and easy recipes for soul food, and you'll spend a minimum amount of time in the kitchen preparing them.  I'll be adding new soul food recipes often, so make sure you check the Quick Cooking Site daily.  Happy Quick Cooking, Y'all!
