*Making Ends Meet*

When I was a child, my mom devised a way to keep me quiet and happy. She saved small soap ends to make bubble blowing liquid and used an empty thread spool as a bubble blower. If you would like to try this, put soap ends in a small jar with a small amount of water and shake, it will take some time for the soap mix to reach a very thick consistency, but once you have it, you can add more soap and water and it will keep indefinitely. The empty thread spool is the bubble-blower. A child will have fun with this because ‘mommy made it’. A friend tells me that she bought a jar of bubble mix with a wand from the dollar store, and now uses dish wash liquid to refill the bottle when it becomes empty.
