Ergonomics

January 24 2011 Ergonomics Newsletter

The latest article from the Ergonomics site at BellaOnline.com is a book review. I liked this book primarily for two things.

1. It's description of the causes of postural issues.

2. The stretches and exercises it includes. These are different from any other set of stretches I have seen.

The initial exercises especially are focused on getting the Right and left side of the body working together in balance. This is very helpful for anyone who has issues that decrease the use of a dominant hand, arm or leg.

The exercises put a focus on the spine and on maintaining good posture in spite of all the everyday stresses.

SOMATICS - Book ReviewSomatics is a theory of mind-body connection.Hanna proposes that the reason we feel older is because of psychological injuries. These get reflected in our bodies.Whether you believe this or not, his stretches and exercises are very good for overcoming many of the side-effects of ergonomic injury.
