Each week I look for inspiration in the world around me and the stories that I hear from other people. Recently, those stories have come from young women with Attention Deficit Disorder. ADD is diagnosed far more often in boys, and sometimes the issues of girls with ADD are glossed over or ignored.
Why is it important to identify and treat girls who have Attention Deficit Disorder? Girls with ADD who do not receive treatment are prone to lower self-esteem, depression, and self-harming behaviors that can impact them for their entire lives. Using signals to indicate problem behaviors can help.
