January 5 2009 Large & Lovely Newsletter

Hello Large and Lovelies,

Welcome to 2009! I hope your new year is full of many wonderful beginnings. Are you taking a trip down the resolution path? If you do, try to stay clear of the two obvious pitfalls that have been proven to backfire at this time of year: weight loss and quitting smoking. I'm not saying that these shouldn't be your goals but making them your New Year resolutions is a sure fire road to disaster. Change your tune this year and try something different. I have five resolutions for this year, all of which have nothing to do with my weight:

- I will practise better organization skills
- I will work on my patience
- I will find ways to better vent my anger
- I will be conscious of spreading kindness
- I will nourish my inner self every day

If you want to share yours, pop by the Large and Lovely forum (link below) and find the resolutions thread. Maybe this year someone will event the fat free, calorie free French fry that actually tastes good.

Have a great week!

Fat Quote

"It's a new year and I hope that means we are not joining Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig or a gym. All programs that promote consuming calories less than your body needs is a diet, no ad campaign can tell me otherwise. If you want to join a gym because you like to exercise, go right ahead, but never do it for weight loss. I doubt you'll less longer than 6 months if you do. I, however, will save my money by continuing to walk and ride my bike on the generator when it is too cold out. I just find it incrediably wasteful to drive to a place to use a stairmaster."
