January 5 2012 Large & Lovely Newsletter

Hello Large and Lovelies,

Welcome to 2012!

I am not really a resolution maker mainly because I am terrible with following through on them then come down hard on myself for the failure. For more than a few years now, I have preferred to make short term goals that lead to long term accomplishments. Goals somehow seem to allow for necessary change as the year progresses while resolutions seem so carved in stone. Whatever you decide for the new year I hope you will be gentle with yourself -- I wish you the best in all your endeavors.

Over at my shopping blog the giveaway this month is sponsored by WhatToExpect.com. Two winners will get the first three What to Expect books -- What to Expect When You're Expecting, What to Expect the First Year, and What to Expect the Second Year. The giveaway ends January 25 and is open to US and Canada.

And of course I hope you will also stop by the Large and Lovely site to read the latest article, a short review of Marie Denee's ebook Curvy Confident Chic.

Have a delightful week!

Fat Quote

"I’m a big believer in the power of intent, and I sincerely believe in making New Year’s resolutions every year. It’s something I’ve been doing for years now, and as I’ve grown older my list of resolutions has become shorter and more realistic. Instead of making a list of ten resolutions with vague instructions like “lose weight” or “write a book,” I’ve whittled it down to five goals that come with concrete ways to achieve them. I also used to publicly declare my resolutions to friends and family. Not anymore. Now I prefer to keep them to myself until I’ve come close to realizing my resolutions." From Patrice (Afrobella)
