The first of the flood of spring gardening catalogues arrived the other day. We haven't even seen winter yet here in the Northeast (not that we mind much), but I imagine it will show up in its own good time. There's a lot of false hope though, as the daffodils and tulips peep out of the soil. Don't worry about them, they're well able for the snows if they come. Even the miniature roses that are leafing out will be fine in the snow. If you are worried about tender tips in harsher areas, though, a layer of leaves provides some insulation.
