Greetings and salutations, my fellow low carbers!
We're in a new year, and many of us have fresh resolutions to eat healthy! I have gotten a lot of questions from people asking "does this really work?" and "can you stick with it?"
The answer of course is YES! I have been running this site since 2004 and have been low carbing this entire time. I am at my target weight and am quite content eating low carb. My boyfriend is perhaps an example of someone who goes on and off the diet :) He was up to 300 pounds. He got down to 220 by low carbing. He then went back to eating junk food and went back up to 300 pounds. He is now back to low carbing and is down to about 250 again, in 4 months. So it definitely is possible to take weight off and keep it off if you eat healthy.
The challenge is usually dealing with "stress eating". You get laid off, you fight with a family member, and you turn to unhealthy foods to soothe you. Once you get into that pattern, I understand it can be hard to break it. We are here to help!
