Clarification for Tatters!

Hello, again, Tatters,
I've encountered some questions that I think need some clarification and I
apologize if it was not clear before. I know it is confusing, every
teaching location has a different way of doing things.
There are always lots of questions about compensation. Which we want you
to have, of course! I understand it is kind of a charged thing, it's never
easy to talk about money. I'll explain again how it works. Yes, the way we
have it set up here is to have the teacher organize their own transport,
hotel, food, everything! On top of that they add their teaching fee. They
tell me the total amount. Along with the information from the teacher's
worksheet regarding their minimum and maximum amount of students, I figure
out how many students I need to get in the class.
That is the first point that I understand is causing confusion. Here's an
example. If a teacher needs to get $2000.00 in all, I know I need 10
students at $200.00 each in order to meet the teachers amount. Or if a
teacher needs to get $2000.00 but says the maximum number of students they
are willing to teach is 2, I know I need to get 2 students at $1000.00
each. The reason I need to know how much the teacher needs in order to
come (transport, food, hotel, teacher's fee, etc, all bundled together)
when I receive the proposal is so that we can make decisions about whether
a class is doable or not.
I hope that clarification helps.
More to come... The reason I want to know how many students I need to meet
all the teacher's needs is so that no one, the teacher or Lacis, is a
loser if the class does not get enough students. In advance, Lacis and the
teacher come up with a date where we check in and figure out if we have
enough students for the class to go ahead. If so the teacher goes ahead
and books their flight, hotel and anything else they must in advance. Not
until then! That way everybody wins. The teacher does pay for their own
flight, hotel, food, etc, but recieves their takens at the end of class.
Because the cost of the class covered all their expenses and included
their teaching fee, the teacher has everything they need.
So don't be shy! Please be as descriptive as you can. And include the
amount you need to receive.
I'm happy to answer anymore questions. If more than one person asks me the
same thing I send it out in a mass email.
Thank you!
Erin
