Hiking & Backpacking

October 16 2006 Hiking & Backpacking Newsletter

Winter is knocking on my door here in the Pacific Northwest. I found a great shoe traction system in Arizona that helps me stay on the trails even when the dirt starts to freeze and things get messy:

Review - Kahtoolah Snowshoe/Crampon Hybrid
Kahtoola's red-on-black leaf-spring Traction Systems are a real design winner for hiking and backpacking in mixed snow, rock and ice conditions. They are nearly weightless compared to typical snowshoes, take up little pack space, and are easy to slip over hiking boots with gloved hands.
