Hello Tatters! I had a chance to do some local traveling this week. I took in the Paris (IL) Honey Bee Festival and brought home some local totally organic honey. My Goodness! It was so sweet..well...as sweet as honey! A couple of pumpkin cookies and a jug of peach cider rounded off an impromptu lunch on the fairgrounds. The air was redolent with wood smoke from reenactors' campfires and piles of burning leaves.

The many small towns through which I drove that day had street after street lined with huge trees. Many showing damage from the recent storms with broken limbs scattered across lawns. But, through it all, there shone the glorious colors of fall leaves. Burnt sugar brown, crab apple red, apricot tinged green sugar maple leaves and glowing golden ginko leaves filled the view. All this color made me long for my shuttles and some fancy hand-dyed threads to try out tatted leaf patterns. Here are just a few of the free patterns I found online.
