Surround Yourself with Comfort & Joy

Hi there! I trust you are having a good week!

I know, it sounds a lot like a Christmas song, but it’s not, although we are quickly heading in that direction, aren’t we?

My article this week is about how cancer can really hit your mind in a negative way. Psychologists are now learning how to help us better understand how to turn it into a positive.

So, since this is a newsletter, I’ll lighten it up a bit!

When I want to feel better, I surround myself with colors I like. I rearrange wall art to suit me, or if I’ve had one picture on a table for too long, I will replace it with another one that I like better. Sometimes things just get a little stale, and don’t fit the mood that I’m in.

Sometimes, colors or textures of clothes I’m wearing don’t seem enjoyable, so I’ll tuck them away for another time. I’ll cruise through my closet and drawers and find pieces that I like, but have forgotten about. I’ll pull them out and hold them like a long lost teddy bear, and think “Ah…I’m glad I found you again!”

The other day I recovered the bottom of a small chair. I already had the fabric and staple gun. It turned out so nice, and looked so pretty and seemed to add a lot to the rest of the room, kind of like spices do a meal! I was productive, and added some beauty to the space while I was at it.

Maybe if your bed pillows are not comfortable anymore, you could go out shopping and buy a new set. Where I live, there are plenty of stores now that sell nice generous pillows for a really good price. And while you’re at it, if you have the money, pick out a very nice high thread count pillow cover set to go with them, in a beautiful color!

Boy, will you sleep good tonight!

I hope you have a blessed and healthy week!
