PBA REGIONAL ROUNDUP: CHRIS BARNES WINS 22ND REGIONAL TITLE IN RICHARDSON
Fresh off his PBA International Tour victory in the Columbia 300 Vienna Open in Austria on Oct. 7, Chris Barnes of Double Oak, Texas, dominated the field to win his 22nd PBA Regional title in the PBA Southwest Region Dallas Open, presented by Dallas Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons, at AMF Richardson (Texas) Lanes on Sunday, Oct 21.
Barnes led the 12-game qualifying round by 199 pins over Sean Lavery-Spahr of Denton, Texas, and won nine of his 16 matches to build his lead to 266 pins over runner-up Dino Castillo of Carrollton, Texas. Barnes finished with a 28-game total of 6,632 pins, including match game bonus pins.
œ In the weekendfs only other regional event, amateur B.J. Moore of Apex, N.C., defeated top qualifier Lee Vanderhoef of Greenville, S.C., 234-202, to win the PBA South Region Franklin (Va.) Open at Franklin Bowling Center on Sunday.
Moore posted a 6-6 match play record with 4,510 total pins for 20 games to qualify third for the stepladder finals, 131 pins behind Vanderhoef, and defeated Chris Hans of Rocky Mount, N.C., 255-172, in the semi-final match to advance to the title match. He earned $2,000 for his win, but doesnft receive credit for a PBA title because he is a non-member.
œ Two senior and one standard events are scheduled for the final pre-WSOB IV weekend. The PBA East Region will conduct its annual Dom DiCicco Memorial Senior Open at Glassboro (N.J.) Bowling and Entertainment, Oct. 26-28, while joint one-day events are on tap for the PBA Midwest/Central Regions: the Lancer Lanes Senior Chameleon and Viper Open events in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The standard event is the Central/Midwest Region Star Lanes Classic presented by Sysco Food Services of Indianapolis in Lafayette, Ind.

XTRA FRAME TO COVER INAUGURAL TEEN MASTERS WORLD SHOWDOWN FINALS
The boysf and girlsf finals of the inaugural Teen Masters World Showdown, a new international competition produced by Teen Masters founder Gary Beck, will be webcast on PBAfs online bowling channel, Xtra Frame, as a part of the PBA World Series of Bowling IV lineup of programs.
Teen Masters World Showdown qualifying and match play, in 18-under and 14-under age groups, will be conducted at Red Rock Bowling Center in Las Vegas Nov. 8-10 with the finals moving to the PBA television garenah at South Point Exhibition Hall at 6 p.m. PT on Saturday, Nov. 10. œ Because no player took up Mike Edwardsf challenge for a renewal of the PBA All-In Showdown, a proposed unofficial kickoff event for PBA World Series of Bowling IV, the event has been cancelled.
œ Overlooked on last weekfs list of women who have won PBA Regional titles was Adrienne Miller, Albuquerque, N.M., who won a PBA West Region non-champions title in Las Vegas in November, 2010. Miller is the sixth woman to win a PBA title, joining previously-noted Liz Johnson, Kelly Kulick, Missy Parkin, Shannon OfKeefe and Clara Guerrero.
