Greetings, and welcome to the 22 November, 2007 Neuromuscular Diseases Newsletter
This free newsletter is put out weekly and provides a wealth of information for anybody living with or interested in Neuromuscular Diseases and the effect it has on people’s lives.
A Malignant Hyperthermia crisis during surgery can have devastating results as the patient can die if the symptoms are not treated immediately.
We lost a very dear friend as result of Malignant Hyperthermia which could not be successfully treated.
According to a top South African researcher all neuromuscular patients should insist that the physician and anaesthesiologists take the necessary precautions before, during and after surgery is performed.
Any questions, experiences or opinions? Let’s talk about this life-threatening condition and gather the necessary information to ensure that we can have knowledgeable conversations with surgeons and anaesthesiologists if we or our family ever need surgery.
Thoughts for the week:
"Say all you have to say in the fewest possible words, or your reader will be sure to skip them; and in the plainest possible words or he will certainly misunderstand them."
- John Ruskin
"Hide not your talents, they for use were made.
What's a sun-dial in the shade?"
- Benjamin Franklin
“To be mature means to face, and not evade, every fresh crisis that comes."
- Fritz Kunkel
