Autism Spectrum Disorders

November 25 2007 Autism Spectrum Disorders Newsletter

Greetings Everyone ~

I am so glad that this long Holiday weekend is coming to a close. Although Nicholas is using Calilfornia Virtual Academy at home and had off Wednesday as well. At least the volume will be much lower when Matthew goes back to school. Today was exasperating with the foot stomping, screaming, constant diaper changes, rewinding videos that produced terrible noises from the television set and smacking the walls with his fists. Today I had the most annoying child on the planet drive me up the wall. These days happen once in a while.

Yesterday was a struggle to get him to eat an english muffin. I caved and settled for a slice of cheese. I think he has also lost weight since services came to a screechig halt with Floortime and Feeding from the same clinic. He rushes through playing with Mr. Potato Head and not interested in my playing techniques.

On Friday we have the annual physicals and need a blood test for Matthew to check his medication (Geodon). I am going to call and see if somone in the Doctor's office can go across the street to get the test tubes needed from the lab since the lab does not use restraints (papoose board). We will probably have to go to see the Audiologist and Eye Doctor other days to get those exams taken care of.

So how was your Thanksgiving? Nicholas and I shared a Boston Market Turkey dinner along with Country Crock mashed potatoes and finished with a chocolate cake from Pepperidge Farm.
