Tatting

December 13 2011 Tatting Newsletter

Hello tatters!

The search is on for the earliest known pattern using block tatting. We know that it appears in German tatting and Finnish tatting books around 1920. It is published in Needlecraft magazines as early as 1925? But there must be an earlier date out there. If you are interested in tatting history perhaps you can check your books and report back to us. AKTATTER@aol.com
Thanks for your help.

Happy Tatting!

Best wishes,
Georgia Seitz

Mary Maynard's Rings of Flowers
Mary Maynard's "Ring of Flowers", tatting book has the flower patterns for notecards which remind me greatly of Haiku, a form of Japanese poetry.
