February 1 2011 Tatting Newsletter

Tatters bring lots of love and passion to their lace. And what better way to express it than to tat up a heart. Valentine's day is barely two weeks off. That's plenty of time to tat up these little treasures.

Good news for our tatters Downunder! Queensland Tatters will meet in Brisbane on Saturday, 5 February, in the Brisbane Square Library (opposite the Treasury Casino), 9.30-1.30. They will continue to meet on the first Saturday of every month Feb-Dec in 2011. They will be studying the Dora Young knot in a class taught by the great Judith Connors.

Dora Young was the author of "All New Knotless Tatting." Dora is the only tatter to have been awarded a US Patent on a tatting technique. Her method of making the split ring is also called a split chain today.
