This round piece is comprised of seven different tatting motifs. All the tatting is easy. It is all rings and chains. Please pay attention to the joins. As the pattern is shown it requires many cut and hide spots. If tatting with multiple colors of thread that is fine. But if you want to make this in one color, there are several options to reduce the cut and tie.
1. Center of 8 rings and chains, unjoined.
R 4 - 3 - 3 clr rw
CH 3 - 3, repeat for total of 8 rings and chains
2. Row of 16 rings unjoined and 8 joined chains
*R 10 - 10 clr dnrw, repeat, rw
CH 5 + (join to right side picot on inner ring) 5;
(join to left side picot on next inner ring), 5 rw
Repeat around from *.
Alternative method to avoid the cut and hide:
Begin center with a starter picot on the chain. Tat around; join first and last chain at the starter picot. Split ring climbing out on the he left side picot to next round. Start second round with partial chain and continue again.
The center is now complete. This oval motif begins with a center of 4 rings.
R 5 - 4 - 5 clr dnrw. Leave no space.
R 4 - 4 - 4 - 4 clr dnrw. Leave no space
R 5 - 4 - 5 clr dnrw. Leave no space.
SR 4 - 4 / 4 - 4 clr dnrw.
Mock picot to climb out.
Repeat 2 times; rings are not joined.

Half the picots on these four rings join to the ovals.
The other half of the picots are free standing.
