Telly Talk:

Great news for fans of Dame Judi Dench- the wonderful actress is set to appear in a five part costume drama for the Beeb, based on the writings of nineteenth century novelist Mrs Gaskell. Penned by acclaimed writer Heidi Thomas (Lilies), the programme begins filming this spring.

Go, Sean go ! The fabulously camp Soapstar Superstar winner, Corrie's very own Anthony Cotton, is poised for his own chat show on ITV.

Filming has begun on the set of the new BBC police drama HolbyBlue. Heading the cast are former EastEnders star Kacey Ainsworth, and Footballers Wives alumnus, Zoe Lucker. The eight parter, to air this spring on BBC One, will feature hard hitting storylines including drugs, gangs and terrorism threats.

This one is funny. Apparently, some big cheese TV bosses in Romania have just purchased 50 episodes of...can you guess ? Emmerdale. Hmmm. Maybe CBC should be listening....

Another series of Foyle's War returns to ITV1, Sunday, February 11.

The second and final series of Life on Mars will hit the screen in the UK on BBC One February 13, and BBC Canada viewers only have to wait until February 28th ! I'm wondering how it will all end - is Sam mad, in a coma, or pulling a Doctor Who ? Several endings have apparently been filmed...Great show. I'll be doing an article on it before this second series airs, to bring you up to speed if you haven't seen it.

Phew, that was quite a rave.

Oh, by the way, our Groundhog here in Nova Scotia, Canada didn't see his shadow today. Double whoop- guess those crocuses will be up soon.

That's all for this week.

See you soon.
