Greetings Everyone ~

I am very pleased to mention that last week a new aide started at school for Matthew. This is a male that applied for the position through LAUSD and has prior autism experience in the private sector. He will be following Matthew to Middle School next year.

I purchased last week and awaiting for the arrival of the Go Talk 9+ communication device. I found it thirty dollars cheaper at this site:

They have used this device at the summer camp the past two summers so Matthew is somewhat familiar with it. We can all start with something new that is more age appropriate than the school provided Cheap Talk Device we had since preschool.

Tomorrow I am attending the CAC meeting where a presentation will be on Jay Nolan Community Services, which is located in Los Angeles County and vendored with the Regional Center System in the state.

Many years ago we had an Adaptive Skills Trainer funded through Jay Nolan working with Nicholas. I am looking forward to learning more about their camp and day programs and will share in a future spotlight article on the organization.

The CNN website shows that the Autism episode on Larry King Live will take place this coming WED, Feb 27th at 9 pm. You can also view this as it airs live at 6 pm PST.
