Attention Deficit Disorder

February 24 2011 Attention Deficit Disorder Newsletter

Here's the latest article from the Attention Deficit Disorder site at BellaOnline.com.

Greetings from the Land of Oz!

This week I added a new subject called Memory Aids to the ADD site. I have trouble with rote memory. An informal survey of my students reveals that this is a problem for them, too. The first two articles are about ways to learn math facts. I have several more articles about learning math facts, and I'll also have methods for learning other academic material.

Do you have something that you are studying and need to learn? Please post in the forum and let me know what it is. Maybe I can help you develop a method for learning the material! You may also e-mail me via my link below.

It's been really warm here recently, but we are expecting snow again tomorrow. Keep warm wherever you are!

Have a blessed week, and I hope you find the article interesting,
Connie

Addition and Subtraction Facts and ADD

One of the problems that students with Attention Deficit Disorder have is memorizing math facts. These bright students can figure out how to do problems without having memorized the facts. However, they sacrifice speed when they need to figure out each problem. This has a detrimental effect on their work completion. Every problem becomes a huge, complicated, time-consuming, problem. Games are an effective way to help students learn math facts without rote memorization. Students use math to learn math. Plus, it’s fun!
