Hola,

This is the last "Around and About" newsletter that you will be receiving as I will be resigning from BellaOnline effective 3/1/2013. At that time, as is the perogative of all of its editors, for a multiplicity of reasons-the foremost being to maintain the control and integrity of my writing-I will be requesting that all of the Mexico site's contents which I was responsible for creating be removed. Consequently, sometime after 2/28/2013 all of the site's articles will be made permanently unavailable.

My next writing endeavor will be in developing a series of eclectic essays revolving around birding while touching upon such topics as man's relationship to nature, the nature of nature, materialism, commercialism, conformity, conservation, sustainability, nature's megadiversity and the figurative if not literal "joy, wonder, miracles and magic" of the avian world.

Not to be Taken for Granted Great-Tailed Grackles
Great-tailed grackles aka Mexican grackles are indeed a common bird. Bold, brash, aggressive, cocky, tenacious and conspicuous, these "black" birds are noisy to say the least! Yet, just because they are common does not make them any less lovely nor behaviorally fascinating.
