Tatting

February 7 2013 Tatting Newsletter

A note from Karey Solomon:

The Finger Lakes Tatting Group’s 15th annual Tatting Seminars in the Finger Lakes is planned for April 13 & 14 in Lodi, NY – with classes, vendors, raffles, banquet silent and live auction, great food – including lots of chocolate – and all kinds of good things tatting related. This year’s theme is Stars. Registration information can be found on our website, fingerlakestatting.com; questions may be directed to me at threads@empacc.net.

We’ve begun offering scholarships informally – until now, we’ve used any money we’ve made to keep costs down for participants – but wanting to do more for those who need encouragement to come, this year we’re establishing a scholarship fund. We’re raising money for it with a Starry Night quilt. The quilt is made – it’s shades of blue and double/queen sized - now we need lots and lots more yellow and gold five-pointed stars to finish it - we’re asking tatters to leave their ends looooong for sewing-on. Contributions (and bids) are invited – please contact Karey Solomon at threads@empacc.net.

Thank you so much! And should you feel inclined to join us, you’d be as welcome as the stars in the evening sky!

Heart, Jan Stawasz
Jan Stawasz shares his heart pattern from his new book, "Tatted Treasures." Experienced tatters will recognize that this is his homage to the late master tatter, Mary Konior. (See his acknowledgement on the diagram.)
