Here's the latest article from the Reading site at BellaOnline.com.
Greetings from the Land of OZ!
It's Spring Break in my area of Kansas, and our weather is anything but springlike. We had snow yesterday and freezing rain today. Our flowers do not like it one bit. Last week temps were in the 60s to 80! I am doing some reading, since yard work is out of the question. Do you know that finding natural places to read helps kids develop a sense of community and gives them a purpose for reading?
Natural Places to Practice Reading
Each day has opportunities for natural reading. Be alert for them! Teach your children to be active readers in their surroundings. It gives them opportunities to interact with their environment. In addition to improving their reading skills, they will also be more connected to their community.
