March 2 2008 Autism Spectrum Disorders Newsletter

Greetings Everyone ~

Here we are already in the month of March and next weekend we turn the clocks ahead one hour. My son Nicholas turns 13 this month! He just loves the cat series books by Erin Hunter called The Warriors and is awaiting new releases in April.

I received the Go Talk 9+ communication device that I ordered from Campus Tech.com - they sell it $30 less than all the autism sites, including Attainment, which is where it was shipped from. Now I just need to learn how to use it and get all the photos needed for school.

Since preschool LAUSD AAC dept loaned up the Cheap Talk device, which went back and forth. Now I plan on doing that with the Go Talk and looking for advice from anyone on how to draft a letter to the school stating this is my device but will be shared with school.

If anyone has any feedback on IEP goals for middle school pertaining to the communication device feel free to share via email. I will be posting some threads on the forum where visitors can discuss these as well. In the fourth grade the OT brought in the AT dept with IntelliTools for Matthew to use. This year there is a new OT and I am not sure what is happening with the IntelliTools and if this will follow to Middle school.
