Here are the latest three articles from the Attention Deficit Disorder site at BellaOnline.com.

Greetings from the Land of Oz!
Maybe you noticed that last week your newsletter was a bit late. We had a technical problem that was cleared fairly quickly. However, your newsletter was delayed. Thanks for your patience!

Last week I posted two articles detailing ways to memorize those pesky math facts. I'll be honest, I finally learned my math facts when I needed to use them--at the age of twenty-one! My students have tested these math games. They work.

Addition and Subtraction Facts and ADD (from last week's ADD Newsletter)

One of the problems that students with Attention Deficit Disorder have is memorizing math facts. These bright students can figure out how to do problems without having memorized the facts. However, they sacrifice speed when they need to figure out each problem. This has a detrimental effect on their work completion. Every problem becomes a huge, complicated, time-consuming, problem. Games are an effective way to help students learn math facts without rote memorization. Students use math to learn math. Plus, it's fun!

With Spring Break coming up, kids will have more free time. With so many parents who have to work in this economy, some of that time will be loosely supervised. I felt very strongly that an article on Internet Safety and Kids with ADD is needed this week. You probably already know a lot of this. Sometimes it helps to have an article to show kids that they need to be careful on the internet. I also put a link to a book that can give you more extensive information on keeping your children safe in the cyber world. The book is organized by age group, as each group of children has some unique needs. Below is a link to my latest article!

Have a great week! Next week I should have an article that does not involve children!
