Yesterday was the equinox and the time of a full moon known as the Pascal moon. It is also wonderful for bird watchers as birds are beginning to flock at the feeders. Just this morning there were two pigeons in the feeder followed by 5 cardinals, 4 males and 2 females, 2 chickadees, two nuthatch, a hairy wood pecker, a downing wood pecker, a red-bellied woodpecker and my favorite woodpecker the red-headed woodpecker.
And, I noticed a robin "listening" his way across the front yard. He was the first robin here. I would have been happy to see him, but I was truly glad. I learned just last night from the weatherman, that this particular full moon is the one which brings out the worms from underground. And my robin was there to greet and eat them. Nature is so magnificent.
The colors of nature are gorgeous, too. All this reminded me of this lesson from 2002 with many birds.
