Tiny Tatting
I adore creating tatted lace for dollhouses. My third book was all on miniature tatting! Which is why I am thrilled to share this wonderful news from the Lace Museum.
The Lace Museum is sponsoring a lace-making competition! We can all start right now making doll-size lace entries for the competition. All entries will be featured in the Lace Museum 2011 Holiday Doll exhibit during November & December. Museum visitors in Jan. 2012 will select one best-of-show winner who will receive a gift certificate to the museum gift shop.
The Lace Museum welcomes all lace-making techniques. The lace must be to miniature scale, 1" = 1'. Contact the museum for further details. http://thelacemuseum.org/

The Lace Museum volunteers demonstrate lace and teach children in schools and at community events and fairs. There is also a guild with lacers who love lace and enjoy the study of all lace types. In fact, I just read that the Lace Museum is looking for interested people to form a lace study group and they wondered if there was also an interest in forming a tatting study group. Wow, what a great opportunity for tatters in the San Francisco Bay Area! Do please call the museum if you are interested.
The mission statement of the Lace Museum:

A mission statement for all tatters:
To preserve tatted lace and the art of tatting
To use and exhibit tatting and study its history
To teach tatting and teach others to share our love of tatting

Applying Needle Tatting to Floral Wire
Excellent projects for the newest tatters, these decorations, floral wreaths and corsages can be made from any thread or yarn. The finished project will need other supplies such as corsage leaves, netting, ribbons and beads, etc.
