Hi all,

Here's two new articles, one on meditation and one on Buddhist history, along with my new Pinterest board of Buddhist Art that you may enjoy.

Thinking Vs. Sinking Mind in Meditation
In meditation, most of us swing between 'monkey-mind', in which we are running from thought to thought, or 'sinking' mind, in which we feel either drowsy or simply dimly aware. Here is advice for dealing with either.

Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism - A History
Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism share many historical roots and themes, just as Judaism, Christianity and Islam do. This article provides a brief overview of the relationship between these three influential Eastern traditions.

I have also been playing around with Pinterest, the social networking site that allows you to virtually 'pin' images together on a board. I have created several boards, including a Buddhist Art board that you may enjoy. You can view it at:

In closing, I thought I would share a few quotes from the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, since the history article above references Taoism:

"Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power. If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich."

"Do not conquer the world with force, for force only causes resistance. Thorns spring up when an army passes. Years of misery follow a great victory. Do only what needs to be done without using violence."

"Simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being.
Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world."

In Peace,
