News:
Stephen King is headed back to the big and small screen, with a remake of his massive book The Stand scheduled for release in 2012, and his Dark Tower novels headed for TV.
The Stand was first filmed as mini series in 1994, with Gray Sinise in the role of the book's most beloved character, Stu Redman. I still have the mini series on DVD and it's hard to imagine anyone but Sinise in this role - or anyone but Miguel Ferrar as Lloyd Henried, or Rob Lowe as Nick Andros, for that matter. These actors staked a claim to those roles in my heart, so lets hope the actors signed up are worthy!

If it was the evil Randall Flagg, played by Jamie Sheridan, that lingered in your memory, then you'll be looking forward to the Dark Tower TV series, which revealed more about 'the Walkin' Dude'. Although he doesn't dominate the dark Tower books, his presence certainly pervades their pages. He is the 'ageless stranger' that gunslinger Roland Deshain has to kill to reach the Dark Tower.
