On April 4,2007, Price Tower, completed in 1956 for the H.C. Price Company, Bartlesville, OK was made a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Dirk Kempthorne.
Maintained by the National Park Service, part of the Department of the Interior, the NHL program has granted its awards annually since 1960. Other notable FLW sites chosen, their location, and the year they were given the status: Fallingwater (Pennsylvania, 2004), Marin County Civic Center (California, 2000), Taliesin (Wisconsin, 1995), Taliesin West (Arizona, 2002), FLW Home and Studio (Illinois, 2002), and the S.C. Johnson Company administration Building and Research Tower (Wisconsin, 2002).
Today, fewer than 2,500 historic places bear this national distinction.
