When you think you've heard enough about Leonardo da Vinci, then there is yet one more story to tell. Researchers say Leonardo's workshop has been discovered in Florence, Italy at the Santissima Annunziata convent. It appears that centuries ago they lent rooms out to artists, Leonardo being one of the tenants.
It is said that Leonardo had a secret room where he dissected cadavers. Although autopsies were banned by the Catholic Church, they were conducted in secrecy. The corpses may have been those executed in prison or homeless people in hospitals.
As bizarre as this story may seem, Leonardo was truly a Renaissance man, ahead of his time, and certainly an accomplished painter.
