Greetings Everyone and Happy Earth Day!
Please note that this evening (SUN 4/22/07) at 8:30 pm EST/PT is the Linda Ellerbee show on Nick News about autism. This is on the Nickelodeon channel.
This past week I revisited my article on Year End Teacher and Therapist gifts:

and ordered seven items since Nicholas will be graduating from fifth grade and we wanted to get all his previous teachers a gift. I picked out two staple free staplers and might be getting another one for home use. I hate that everything they send home from school has staples in it and they hurt the fingers:

I also chose notecards, ink stamps and these signs for kids to utilize in the classroom:

I ordered a DVD for Nicholas and I to view at http://www.modelmekids.com that is on conversation cues. A review will be forthcoming once we receive it and review it together.
Last nite I visited http://www.autismshop.com and ordered self care eye pics and a large schedule board for Matthew. Their prices are very reasonable and I will be getting more items there once I receive these pics.
One other stop I made last night was at http://www.difflearn.com to get the talking photo album to program for Matthew and the DVD for Nicholas entitled, Look Mom! I have good manners. The DVD is only $14.95, which seems like a good bargain.
Two other sites worth noting this April for autism awareness month is http://www.ceotoddler.com and http://www.sandbox-learning.com
I paid $159.00 for Geek Squad to come to my home and install a new CD drive. Three weeks and two visits later has resulted in no compatible CD drive for my Gateway Astro. The next option is an external drive or a new computer. This means there will not be any reviews of CD software for quite awhile until I get a new system or external drive.
The good news is that California Virtual Academy loans computers to homeschooled students, which is where I have enrolled Nicholas for the next school year. He is in the process of doing the assessments to determine which curriculum he will be taking. If all else fails I hope to utilize that computer for software reviews.
