Proposal for a 2nd International Holiday for Tatters

International Tatting Day was celebrated with great glee here at BellaOnline and in the Online Tatting Class April 1, 2011. This has been a holiday for tatters for more than a decade so far. We gather together in ones and twos, in guilds and online with tatters around the world to tat, chat and enjoy chocolate! [Ed.'s note: Chocolate is the official candy of tatters everywhere.] This year's event was so great that I think we should establish a second holiday.

My first thought was to propose April 5th as another holiday. April 5th is National No Housework Day, so I thought that would be perfect. But, two holidays so close together would be too much. Oh well...

There is, however, another tatting event in April for those in the midwest. It is hosted by the Lafayette Lacers who are celebrating their 30th Anniversary on Saturday, April 9, 2011, 10:00 to 4:00 EDT at the Christ United Methodist Church, 3610 S 18 Street, Lafayette Indiana 47909. The church is located at the NW corner of Veteran’s Memorial Pkwy [formerly 350 South and South 18) Light are refreshments included but lunch on your own. Questions: Contact Carolyn at: Lacedobes@aol.com.

30th Anniversary! That is quite an achievement. Congratulations to the Lafayette Lacers.

Now for tatters on the west coast, the Shuttlebirds Tatting Guild of Spokane, Washington annual event. They will be celebrating their 15th Annual Tatting Days and Workshop on the April 15 - 16, 2011 at the Spokane Valley Nazarene Church, 15515 E 20th Ave. (at Sullivan Rd) Spokane Valley WA. The church is easily accessible from I-90 at the Sullivan Rd Exit #289.

Happy Tatting All!
