Greetings Everyone and Happy Easter to those that celebrate this Holiday:

Spring break is over here with Nicholas going back to school and the coming week is parent-teacher conferences at Matthew's school. We received the Floor Time progress report to get funding for another six months. I will be writing an article sharing the highlights of this report soon. I am also going through all the report cards for Matthew from the teacher he has had now for three years. I am going to be looking into what criteria they use for the points since each one Matt gets the low score of 1 for health and speaking. I presume since he is nonverbal and not toilet trained, but not certain and want access to something in writing explaining how teachers come to these conclusions.

I learned after the fact that the Loa Angeles Zoo presented a special assembly at Matthew's school. I went to the office to ask why special ed parents were not notified prior to the event and was informed that no animals were present. The response in the communication log to my same question to the teacher did indeed mention animals being present. This got me into researching Prior Written Notice and what exactly that means. There will be an article forthcoming on that as well.
