Marilee Rockley "Marilee's Beaded Tatting Finery" 2014

Marilee has published another book! This book of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and pendants has 48 pages of full color tatting. It had to be full color to do justice to the brilliantly colored threads Marilee used! But like Marilee's first book, "Up and Tat'em", this is a teaching book in disguise! There are photo lay-outs for the instructions all the basics and more. Plus beading in more methods than I could list are covered with photo tutorials. Beautiful patterns, beautiful threads, colorful presentation and straightforward tatting techniques. A treat for all tatters and a tool for the beginner tatter.
The Shuttle Brothers "Tatting GR-8 Baubles, Bugs and Blossoms" 2014
Randy and Gary Houtz, the Shuttle Brothers, have published a fourth book of tatting patterns. Continuing their study of the self-closing mock ring, a number of patterns are presented using it. However, this new book is a great departure as the bulk of the tatting is three-dimensional. And, the book includes detailed instructions on the technique creating a tatted bauble. This technique is further used as the body of the many critters and even the blossoms shown. Their tatted Christmas Rose pattern is spectacular and the free standing mosquito is a hoot! This book is full of fun patterns for any tatter.

Kukka Tat's "kukka tatting #3454" 2013?
"kukka tatting" [sic] is a name new to me on the list of Japanese language tatting books. This new book is a gorgeous "coffee table" type book full of beautifully photographed tatting. The tatting projects are cute and useful but simple. I feel that this book is presented as an instructional book with projects to practice the techniques learned. The photo tutorials are terrific!
A delightful book for the beginning to intermediate tatter.

Note: I acquired these books myself for my personal reference library. G Seitz
