Gut Flora the Pre-frontal Cortex and ADD
Greetings from the Land of OZ!
It has been soggy here lately, but everything is unbelievably green. Our backyard pond has water lilies blooming, and the iris are fabulous. School is out for the year, but I am busily preparing for the next year. About the last two weeks in July, I might get a rest, if everything is completed. Oh, the life of a teacher! Contrary to what you might hear, it really isn't an 8-3 job with summers off!
I have been enjoying reading some research that might apply to ADD. It wasn't developed to check for pre-frontal cortex functioning, but the researchers did find some information about that. You might want to read the rest of the ScienceDaily article. I only referenced that part of the article which I felt applied to ADD. Have you ever been stressed out and found yourself with an upset stomach? Your brain communicates with your gut. Now, researchers have found that it is a two-way street. The gut communicates with the brain and what it says depends on the flora in the gut! Are there implications for ADD? Read on!
