Greetings Everyone -
It has been two weeks since I had a chance to write any articles. I was busy taking the Stanley Greenspan Online Course and the Sensory Processing Disorders course with Rosemary White.
They extended the conferences through last Saturday and at 8 pm I finished watching the last one and was able to listen to some audio responses plus I printed lots of power point presentations. I decided the last day to take the Mastery Test to see how I did, even though I am not pursuing professional development. Those who pass the test can go to the DIR Institute. The results will be emailed in four weeks.
Their interactive forum was buzzing with people from all over the world. Many seemed to over think the videos for the mastery test and which level the child was at. I viewed some more than once, but just went with my initial feeling on them and hope for successful passing of the test.
I had my last phone conference with the special ed and general ed teacher for Nicholas the other day. Then there was Matthew's triennial and matriculation IEP followed by a home visit with Nick's teacher for a reading test and turning in of the last semester work samples. I hope to put together an article soon on the home schooling with California Virtual Academy experience soon as we are continuing for two more years through the rest of his Middle School years.
Matthew's IEP is not completed yet and I will be writing about that shortly. Nicholas is anxious to use the computer to play Zoo tycoon since he could not do that while I was taking the course. I even bought him the Nntendo DS version, but only the computer has the Dinosaur options.
