Environmental Toxins and Developing ADD

Greetings from the Land of OZ!

One of the truly fascinating parts of writing is doing the research. I go to reputable science magazines and journals to find ideas. Then, I just plunge right in with the research! Do you find the research into the causes of ADD/ADHD as spellbinding as I do? The interplay between genetics and environment just holds my attention, well as much as anything can hold my attention! LOL!!

Attention Deficit Disorder seems to be more prevalent in certain families. Why do some members develop ADD/ADHD, while others don't? Researchers suspect that environmental toxins, widely available in our lives and homes, might provide at least part of the answer.

I live in the United States. We have environmental laws, even if many companies try to circumvent them. This leads me to wonder about countries where industrial pollution is an accepted way of life. Do they have even higher incidences of neurological differences? If I have some spare time this summer, maybe I'll pamper myself and do some research on this.
